Strategic Insights for a Sustainable Built Environment
A sustainable future for the built environment starts with collective insight and collaboration across disciplines. We were proud to see Tiffany Kwan Shu Yi, Associate Director, share her perspectives at the SIA Sustainability Seminar: Strategic Insights for a Sustainable Built Environment.
How it was in 2025
Driving practical climate action through industry–regulator dialogue
Organised by the SIA Sustainability Committee, the seminar brought practitioners, regulators, and innovators together for meaningful cross-discussions on policy direction, industry data, and what is material and realistic for the sector—while continuing to advance Singapore’s green building ambitions. BSD contributed to the conversation through Tiffany’s sharing, covering key sustainability priorities for the built environment, including Green Mark 2025 updates, the industry’s adoption of the BCA Code of Practice for Environmental Sustainability, and the importance of considering embodied carbon early in the design process. The panel discussion further reinforced the value of stakeholder feedback and collaboration in shaping practical, impactful pathways toward climate mitigation and adaptation.
