BSD provides consultancy towards achieving the environmentally sustainable design and construction of buildings and the built environment. In the process, BSD strongly promulgates the three Es of a Conservation Economy: Equity, Ecology, and Economy.

Tan Phay Ping
BSc (Hons), MSc (Bdg), LEED AP, GMP, GBIF, EarthCheck AP, and Auditor BCA CFD Committee Member. Lecturer for GMM module. BCA Green Advocate 2012, SGBC Board Member (4 years), Green Mark Advisory Committee Member (4 years).
Bringing around 20 years of experience in energy and environmentally sustainable design advisory, I have worked on more than 200 regional projects. I have also successfully led over 10 large-scale applied research projects in this field.
Yong Ping Quen
MSc. (Bdg Sci), BEng (Hons), GMP, GBIF. Certified Energy Auditor, BCA Energy modeling assessor, BCA Mechanical Services Committee Member. Lecturer for GMM/ GMP Energy modeling module.
Approximately 20 years of experience in energy and environmentally sustainable design advisory, with a focus on energy efficiency and performance modeling. Successfully delivered over 300 projects, including notable developments such as Terminal 4, Gardens by the Bay, Asia Square Towers, Funan, etc.

Ben Ang is Principal Engineer at Building Systems and Diagnostics (BSD), leading the audit department in mechanical & electrical systems, sustainability consulting, and energy performance optimisation.
He specialises in ACMV instrumentation, energy audits, and local building codes, and has advised various commercial and industrial projects on Environmental Sustainability Design (ESD) and green certification.

Wenjie Chen

Approximately 10 years of experience in green building advisory across a wide range of project typologies. Wenjie oversees regional sustainability projects, including those in China. He is a certified EarthCheck and WELL specialist, as well as a WELL Performance Testing Agent (PTA), with a strong track record of delivering over 50 EarthCheck projects and more than 10 WELL-certified developments.
Ir.Chua Ang Tze
Brings over 12 years of experience in the mechanical engineering and green building sector.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in Mechanical Engineering, equipping him with strong technical expertise in building systems, energy efficiency, and sustainable design.
As a certified Green Building Index (GBI) Facilitator, he has played a key role in guiding numerous projects through Malaysia’s green building certification process, promoting environmentally responsible practices and contributing to the development of high-performance, energy-efficient buildings across various sectors.
Jake Tai Soon Wen
With over 10 years of experience in the building services and sustainability industry, he holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering and is a certified GreenRE Manager.
His expertise spans mechanical system design, energy efficiency strategies, and green building certification, with a strong focus on delivering high-performance, environmentally responsible solutions across a wide range of project types.
Kelly Lee Qai-Li
Holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Environmental Science, with a strong academic foundation in sustainability, environmental management, and ecological systems.
She is a certified Green Building Index (GBI) Facilitator, GreenRE Manager, and MyCREST Qualified Professional (QP), enabling her to provide comprehensive green building consultancy across various rating tools in Malaysia and the region.
Her qualifications support her role in driving environmentally responsible design, enhancing energy and resource efficiency, and guiding projects through successful green certification processes.
Kim Dongkyun
BEng (Arch Eng), MEng (Arch Planning), Lecturer for SIT energy modeling module.
Approximately 15 years of experience in energy modeling, building physics simulations, and environmental planning. Delivered over 100 energy modeling and optimization projects, with a strong focus on performance-driven design. Served as a key team member in the Changi Airport Group Terminal 5 (CAG T5) project.
Specialized in conducting parametric studies to optimize building performance across various design scenarios.
Melissa Lok
BEng (Renewable Energy Eng), Green Mark Accredited Professional
Melissa Lok is Head Sustainability Strategist with over seven years’ experience in green building consultancy. A certified ISO 14064 GHG Professional, she specialises in carbon accounting, ESG strategy, and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
She has led projects securing Green Building Certifications, carbon disclosures, and decarbonisation outcomes across diverse sectors.
Tan ShiHao
BScProjMgt, GMAP
Specialization is in Data Center and Building Green Retrofits. He has assisted large buildings such as Great Word City Mall and Office in their green retrofits to achieve greater energy savings and meet sustainability goals.
He oversees a team working on green retrofitting projects and green mark for existing building and has successfully completed more than 50 Green Mark Existing Building certifications.
Tiffany Kwan
BEnvEng, GMAP
ESD Leader for close to 50 Green Mark Residential and User-centric Green Mark Projects. Tiffany looks after a team of more than 20 ESD engineers within BSD, helping project achieve their Sustainability targets. She is an achiever and one of the young BSD leaders.
